This repository contains all the public documents we have received from local municipalities via the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA). Documents have been organized, categorized, and cleaned to ensure sensitive personal details are anonymized while preserving full policy and contract integrity.

How You Can Help (CORA & FOIA)
The Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) is a law that guarantees public access to government records. Anyone can submit a CORA request to state agencies, counties, cities, and school boards. For federal agencies, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is used.
Tips for Requesting Public Records:
- Be Specific: Instead of asking for "all emails about cameras," ask for "emails between Police Chief X and Flock Safety regarding ALPR cameras between January 1, 2025 and June 30, 2025."
- Request Digital Formats: Specify that you want documents delivered electronically (e.g., PDF, Excel/CSV) to avoid paper printing fees.
- Watch for Fees: Agencies can charge for staff time spent researching and preparing documents after the first hour (which must be free under Colorado law). Always ask for a cost estimate before they begin.
